2020 Fundraiser & Rail Jam Recap

Published by Jonny Nelson on

This year JSAW brought the annual fundraiser together with our ski/snowboard rail jam at Help Boardshop. Just over 100 people attended including 52 riders who competed on the snowpark and skatepark. It was quite cold, but nothing we Minnesotans couldn’t handle! The Brick Oven Pizza bus was baking some incredible pizza’s and Caribou donated plenty of hot chocolate and coffee.

The donors that attended were excited to see the ministry in action and hear them share their stories of how God has transformed their lives through JSAW. The riders too were encouraged to be able to feel the support and see the community rally around them for the event. We are happy with how well the tandem event went and plan to do it again this way next year. Be sure to mark you calendars for October 9th, 2020.

The fundraiser did not raise what we had hoped, which we think is partially to blame on the pandemic. In previous years we had over 100 donors attend and this year it was just under 50. With the early snow and cold, riders too were pulled away from the event by resorts opening early. Nevertheless we exceeded last years rail jam attendance and JSAW was able to raise $12,753 toward making riders into disciples. We need to raise $58,551 by December 31st. We want to thank all JSAW’s donors, volunteers and sponsors for helping to make this unique fundraiser and rail jam event possible.
