Last month, JSAW held its preseason ski and snowboard rail jam, drawing 110 attendees and 64 competitors. It was incredible to see riders who were once not following Jesus, now stepping up as volunteers, serving others, and encouraging the competitors. The energy was electric, with riders from all walks of life coming together for a day of friendly competition, community, and connection.
The rail jam wasn’t just an event to ski and snowboard, it was a chance to build community before the snow season starts and an opportunity to share the gospel. While there were no public commitments to Christ during the event, the impact was evident in other ways. Afterward, several riders approached us with questions about faith, wanting to dive deeper into what JSAW does and how they could get involved in small groups.
One rider, who had been loosely involved with JSAW over the past few years, shared a powerful moment with the group. She opened up about wrestling with self-confidence and insecurities, then shared a verse that has been her anchor recently—Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It was a reminder of the quiet, yet persistent work God is doing in hearts.
This event showed how God is moving through our community, planting seeds of faith, and creating spaces where riders can find purpose and support. The rail jam was a powerful start to the season, and we look forward to seeing the lasting impact of the connections made and the faith conversations sparked.
