August 11-15 the boys of JSAW, alongside our friends at Foundation Skate Ministry from Illinois, successfully had ourselves a time of skateboarding in Denver CO, experiences and fellowship. With the 19 of us total we discussed what we think it means to be men, and especially, what it means to be men of God. Genesis 1:27 God creates Man in His image, and through Christ, we are being restored back into the Men he intended us to be from the beginning. So while sitting in the grass eating subway we discussed what we think that might look like. The students were a bit shy to speak their minds, so the discussion was mostly led by us leaders (Ian Wheat, Zac Whitfield and myself) about God’s character and how it is expressed in our own lives, such as love and forgiveness, and those are some attributes of being men of God. Though they were quiet, it was certain everyone walked away with a glimpse of the Face of Jesus. We’d like to thank Uriel Luebcke from Skatuary, Randy Schroeder from SFC, and the Weiman family for inviting us into their homes and Uriel for letting us sleep and skate at his house and the Skatuary skatepark.
