Skate Camp: Week #1

We held the first skate camp of the summer and the kids had a blast! We dove into the basics of skateboarding and of our faith. We talked about the similarities between skateboarding and our walk with Christ, like how we can trust our board to keep us up and at the same time we can trust Jesus even more in every aspect of our lives.

We had many boys who were just starting out skateboarding and to see the joy in their eyes when they learned the smallest maneuvers was exciting. Most boys would stay after to keep practicing what they learned. One boy, set a goal each day, one new trick, and tried his hardest to reach it.

Games were played, blood was shed, tears were wiped, skateboards were ridden and the highest of fives were received! Looking forward to see how these boys progress both in skateboarding and their faith! It is not too late to sign up for the July Camp, July 15-19.

Thanks to all the volunteers who provided snacks and lunch each day. For these male tweens, eating was a big highlight of the week and made the camp experience even more enjoyable. We appreciate your generosity, time and support for JSAW’s ministry.
